Lip Blush Pre-Care & Aftercare Instruction

Please read carefully before and after your appointment.
Failure to follow these instructions may affect your final results.

PRE CARE

  • Moisturize and exfoliate lips 3 days leading up to appointment. Do not come with dry chapped lips, and drink lots of water. This is super important.

  • No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Wear spf chapstick and avoid tanning  for 7 days before and after.

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Advil, or Ibuprofen 24 hours before

  • No Botox around lips or lip filler injections within 4 weeks prior.

  • Sensitivity may be higher during your menstrual cycle, so book accordingly if your sensitive.

  • If you are pregnant or nursing you cannot get lip blush at this time.

  • Please eat before your appointment for your own comfort to keep your blood sugar up.

  • Bring headphones if you want to zone out and listen to a podcast or music.

  • Bring lipsticks and inspos of what you would like to appointment. Dm or email me photo of your lips in natural light along with inspos.

COLD SORES
If you have EVER had a cold sore in your life. Please get a prescription of Valtrex the procedure WILL trigger an outbreak but can be easily avoided. Ask them for a full 2 weeks prescription (so you have enough for touch up too). take the day before and 3-4 days after lip blush. (You can now get valtrex prescribed by the pharmacist without appointment)

POST CARE

  • Day of:  Wipe and clean lips with gentle soap and cotton pads hourly to remove lymphatic fluid and pigment. Then apply thin layer of ointment provided.

  • Day 2 onward: No more firm wiping, keep lips clean with gentle patting (morning, night, after you eat). Then apply thin layer of ointment. Avoid getting them wet.

  • Your lips will feel chapped and dry. Do not pick at the flakes, let them naturally peel off or you risk a patchy heal. keep hydrated with ointment.

  • Apply ointment before brushing teeth or showering to seal lips. Pat dry after.

  • Avoid lipsticks, swimming, tanning, sauna, excessive sweating and kissing for 5-7 days.​

  • For the sun lovers avoid heavy sun exposure during healing and use sf SPF chap stick after peeling to protect your lips.

  • Avoid hot beverages, spicey foods, soups and anything that stretches out your lips. Drink through a straw for 5 days.

  • Long term care: Avoid retinols, actives and lasers around the lip blush as it will fade the color. Wear SPF chapstick to prevent the sun from fading your lip blush faster. Neutralizations, please use SPF religiously if you are in heavy sun to avoid tanning your lips and conserving the work done.
